'In Concert' has been influenced by my reaction to recently hearing Ravel's Piano Concerto 'Colourful Sounds' in the Concert Hall setting at the Sydney Opera House.
The disk elements in my work reference what I assume are the acoustics panels suspended above the orchestra. Within each shape were the reflections of the musicians below creating a movie like effect. The colours I remember were the deep rose, earth/orange and light ochre. The silver elements in the background are inspired by the sight of the massive organ pipes at the rear of the stage.
