ROSEMARY COLLARD - Abstract Digital Artist
The work of Wassily Kandinsky has profoundly influenced the direction my art has taken over 45 years. As an art student in the 1970's, I was inspired to adopt Modernist principles of design and to develop a personal Abstract style.
Twenty Five years ago I chose the computer as the medium best able to express my visualizations - imaginary ‘other worlds’ as I now describe each work. My digital artworks have been produced as paper, metal, acrylic prints, and as wall works comprising a mix of materials.
I've always held the view that the Artist not their medium determines whether their work is legitimate art. It will take time for digital art to become an accepted commodity but I remain confident that this will happen, because the world continues to change.
