The title 'whorl' was inspired by the dominant element in the image but the alternative title 'a matter of factor' was inspired by the path I took making the work, factoring in three opposing elements - the whorls, the geometric triangular shapes and a third less obvious blob-like shape.
I have an interest in the concept that disagreements are often simply about each party factoring in opposing ideas. Factoring in elements into my pictures is a recent development and my goal is to find a way for them to exist harmoniously with each other.
Would that the world's problems could be as easily resolved by means of factorization!
