BLACK AND RED SERIES
In  2012 Candy Gordon commissioned to do  three drawings similar to a  drawing  I had done  in my visual diary.

I was to prepare 3 ink drawings, using the same elements   -  line, pattern, and colours.  One drawing  was to be without red,  the second to have a small area of red and in the third drawing, the red increase to match the black and white.  They were to be approximately 10.5 cm square and  freehand  drawn.
I prepared 10 works for her selection,  to give her choice for the three different looks,  and followed the same method I'd been working on around the time of the original drawing.
The works were begun after the Picture plain was set and drawn with dots.  These could be random or to some preconceived theme, such geometric,  circular,  serrated etc.  Connecting these points was the next step  -  responding to them intuitively rather than by design.  It's hard to explain the relationship which grows between the paper, the marks and the 'maker', but it happens and is like a form of meditation, perhaps when the right brain takes over as shapes and patterns become paramount.
