This work was done on a Linen Board -  a good support for experimental work.    The intention was to concentrate on textures through applying with different tools a variety of media.   These included traditional media such as charcoal,  acrylic, and binders -  impasto and gel,   and  'found' media such as paper,  string,  bamboo,  birch bark and bristles.     I also introduced glazes with small amounts of acrlylic paint to unify the surface when needed.    The early stages were random acts not too focussed on composition.   At a certain point the purpose was to make a composition.      I chose not to divide the picture plane into distant areas,  but rather to create a surface piece  which would have interest in it's textures and colour.
Drying time with Meg on guard.
