'Dancing with Aura'  -  The story behind the artwork.
On August 3 this year,  I was approached by a representative of the creative team from the Design Bridge and Partners (China) to create a new artwork to celebrate the first anniversary of the Haikou Mall, Hainan.   They thought the style of  'The Tangled Web'   would suit their concept 'Dancing with Aura'.   I agreed to take on the work and a zoom meeting was set up for me to  be briefed by the team about the theme of the project.

At this meeting four additional artworks  from my Bahance Profile were shown to me to further illustrate the style they were looking for.
The interior photos of the Mall I was shown  inspired some of the elements I used in the design. After sorting size, format and colour and 'housekeeping'  the meeting ended on a positive note  and I was thoroughly inspired!

I presented 4 design options - creating   line,   tone  and colour versions.  After 2 weeks, the final artwork had been chosen  - agreed by all.   I never imagined that a single artwork would be used in so many ways - testament to the digital means perhaps - so it was a shock when I saw the results of everybody's  creative work.  My favourite application is the high screen in the Mall.  Most

The chance to work on this project has led to an unforgettable experience -  collaborating with artists from another part of the world.  Art without borders comes to mind when I think of the exchanges between myself and the Design Bridge team.  I feel gratitude to them for their trust and patience throughout the design process.  I'll also be forever thankful to CDF for their ongoing support of my work and style.
I hope other artists will welcome as I did the chance to experience valuable interchange of ideas across cultures,  it can only be for the good.
