'Moon Tide' is one of a set created after visiting Green's Beach at the mouth of the Tamar River, Launceston. I wanted to create a portrait of the beach which I visit often and have grown to love.  The resource photos I took were simply prompts to my thinking when I began working.
My interpretation of the beach was guided by thoughts of the moon influencing the tides and that every morning the evidence of the tidal activity is there for beach combers to explore.  Its as if each night the beach is washed clean ready for a new display of the ocean's deposits.   So the moonlight and tides became the driving influence for the three works.
