I imagine all artists are working through these uncertain times in different ways. Some are proceeding as usual - some, due to their circumstances, are prevented from working physically but are using their visualization skills to create ideas for future projects.
My recent work habits have come to a halt because the inspiration which motivated them has been affected by world events. I'm unable to focus on creating abstract works with any enthusiasm.
Instead as a way to keep creating I've opened up my visual diary to draw with pen and ink any ideas which come to mind. I've worked in this manner in the past and it is a form of meditation or reflection for me as I allow my mind to wander whilst drawing and 'sculpting random shapes and lines. It helps to divert my attention to be concerned with the marks I'm making rather than those beyond my reach.
'Musings' is an example of this technique - the drawing remains open to further contemplation and adjustment with no end goal in mind. Looking at this work it seems to me to be about chaos needing to be ordered.
