'I had a big dream last night...'
This collection has been created from the late 1990's - 2001.
I have always dream't vividly but in 1988 one dream changed the course of my life leading me undertake three years of analysis with Dr Sally Kester, a Jungian Analyst in Perth.
Under Sally's guidance I began recording all my dreams, eventually filling 3 journals. I learned the language of my dreams and their symbolism, discovered the 'dream's' use of metaphor, and eventually translated the dream stories into a visual form. I became interested in the relationship between the dream motifs, mythology and mythic based literature. Orpheo Series is an example of this interest.
All the drawings in this collection are from memory - of actual dreams I experienced at that time.
Graphite pencil became my favourite medium for the early drawings and most in this collection use that medium.
