'New Leaf'
Just as there are primary colours I think there are also primary shapes - the square, circle and triangle. I’ve used these shapes in ‘New Leaf’ which was an alternative solution to a theme I was working on last year - a Refusé . I’m not keen to discard ideas so save them for future review and maybe development.
‘New leaf’ is an example of this process. I’ve kept to the original concept of the saved image – it needed little work in the end. The square dominates with some variations. The triangles and circle are distorted to soften the geometry of the design. The ‘new leaf’ emerges from the centre is the reason for the title.
