Portraiture

This is a collection of portraits of myself and others. The self portraits are especially challenging - as we can be reluctant to reveal the truth about ourselves. The line drawing I did when I was 28 is the first of a small number of self portraits I have done over my life.

Private Collection

These portraits were all done from 1974 to 1984. Although I love to draw faces and the human body it has never been the main focus of my work.

Self portrait - one of 16 submitted for the post graduation exhibition catalogue in 1978.79 (after much thought we called it 'Chrysalis') - the requirment was for a single line drawing and some verbage. Rediscovering it prompts me to consider another attempt in the near future. Always a cathartic experience looking objectively into the mirror.
