The works I've chosen here have been created over the last 11 years and are all digitally generated. All of them have been done using Photoshop - or a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop.
I bought my first computer - a Mac - in 1996. At the time it came with Photoshop Version 3 installed on the machine. A generous promotional software which has proved it's worth over 18 years.
I taught myself how to use the software, finding that experimentation and play were the best ways to learn.
My training in art has been traditionally based, and perhaps for that reason I look on the digital medium as simply another tool to make art. As with all art media, digital art has it's own unique style and possibilities. For this reason I try to create artwork which can only have been digitally produced and not derived from a camera or scanner. This frees me to use my imagination - to use artistic licence and - hopefully - to show the unsee-able or unknowable.
1997 - this was one of my earliest images where I was playing with Photoshop 3! The original file has been lost.
