For many years I've been interested in creating a tryptich in an abstract form. This is the first one called 'The Shape Array'. I have chosen a limited colour palette - with a strong emphasis on tonal contrast. The motifs - shapes and lines - are organised in the different photoshop layers - both logically and randomly. The central panel contains the main subject matter, with the panels either side containing what I like to call the supporting artists. I always think of the picture planes of my digital work as being like a stage set on which I direct the various characters - the shapes. It has been a very difficult but enjoyable piece to create. I hope others who think abstractly will like it and those who don't will still enjoy studying it.
