'yellow wing' - is one of a set of works - still in progress - inspired by seeing a tiny wren hovering over a grevillea bush in my garden. Its unusual colouring attracted my attention as it was mostly variegated charcoal/black with its wings a triangular shape of yellow feathers. Searching for a way to depict this rare little bird's colouring abstractly has occupied my thoughts since. I call this set 'the charcoal bird'.
